BVEYard to Tri-State Transit | The Start of a New Era

In the world of virtual train simulations, enthusiasts and developers are continually pushing the boundaries of realism and immersion. OpenBVE, one of the many train simulators, however, one of the few open-source simulators, has become one of the most popular. This has led to the creation of many development groups looking to recreate the entirety of the New York City subway in the game. Unfortunately, most of these groups have “BVE” in their name. Now, on a surface level, that doesn’t seem like it should be an issue, however, when you have 5+ of these groups with “BVE” in their name, it can be difficult to differentiate one from another. Who made this (A) Line? Who made this R68? We do not want to be involved in some of the confusion and questioning on who built what, so, today, we’re announcing a BIG change. We are changing our name to Tri-State Transit. You can expect the same level of content from us - all-new routes that push the boundaries of OpenBVE Development. Talking about development, why not talk about what we have in store?

The (Q) Line

The (Q) Line. We announced this route earlier this year, and while I know news on it has been slow, don’t think you can just write it off as a canceled project. The base route is mostly complete, however, we’re working on extra detailing, optimization, and the addition of scenarios. We want this release to be big and include tons of content for you to play. This should be a route that you are surprised every time you load it up. Every time you play it, you should have a completely new experience.

The R46

Some of the ‘OG’ BVEYard members may remember that we were working on an R46 back when we started out. We quickly realized that instead of modifying an existing train with new textures and sounds, it’d be better to build a completely new model. So, today, we’re giving all of you a sneak peek at our ALL-NEW R46.

Here are some photos of both the (Q) Line and R46 in their current states:

What else?

Now while all of this sounds great, don’t get ahead of yourselves. Development takes time, especially when you're aiming for a high-quality release. We still don’t have a release date for this content, but we can now say, it won’t be too much longer. Also, don’t think that what’s been shown off here are the only things we have in the pipeline, as we have so much more that we aren’t ready to show off yet.
